It has been a while since I last posted, but it seems life has been a wirlwind for us recently. I guess it is true what they say, time flys when you are having fun. Here is a just a random sampling of some of our activities for this summer.
Finger Painting

Finger Painting
Overall it was a HOT but good summer. It now looks like we are finally cooling down with highs in the low 90's. I know that doesn't sound super cool, but it feels awesome to us.
Marama is growing and growing. The outfit that she wore at Christy's wedding now is a top with a pair of capri leggings rather than baggy pants.
Xander has been working hard, keeping me on my toes and laughing. Incidently, he has decided he wants his name spelled with and X. For a while he would lift up his shirt and request to feed Marama when she was hungry. Of course I would say no, just mommy can feed her. One day she started sucking on his finger and Xander ran over to me and excitedly declared, "Mom! Milk in my finger."
Some other entertaining moments from Zander include last night when we were having the missionaries over and he saw me with a pitcher in my hand and asked with great interest, "Mommy you're making a drink?" I replied no, I am just getting some ice water. To which he reply while jumping up and down, "ICE WATER . . . mmmmmm"
And finally . . . he was looking at the instruction book for his blocks and came a cross instructions to make a scorpion. He wanted to know what it was so I told him is was a scorpion and I could show him some pictures of a real scorpion on the computer. He wanted to look at lots and lots of pictures of scorpions and came across this one . . .

at which point he asked, "mom, whats that?" I told him it was a mommy scorpion with her babies on her back. His response?
"Awwwwe, so cute!"
And as for Teah, she is also doing really well. We decided to homeschool for kindergarden, which I will post more on later, but so far we have been loving it and she is doing really well. She is becoming quite the helpful big sister and has decided that we have enough boys in our family and that all other babies should be girls.
We hope you all enjoyed your summers and are enjoying the upcoming fall!

Ok, the mama/baby scorpion picture gives me the creeps! Ewwww! But Zander's response is too funny! Glad you guys have had such a fun summer! And thanks for sharing some of your time with us! You guys rock!:)
So many things to comment on, where do I begin! It looks like bathing suits were popular this summer. I agree that the scorpion picture was pretty gross but I am glad Xander (notice the X) thought it was cute. And Marama is definitely growing into a cute little girl. Can't wait to hear more about the homeschooling.
I am really glad that scorpion wasn't in your yard. I scrolled through the pictures briefly before I read it and thought it was at your house. Thank goodness! Looks like a fun summer indeed.
Looks like you have all been having a great time! And I'm glad, too, that it was just a picture of scorpions...not at your house. Xander's cousins here really love bugs, too, and like to role-play as cockroaches...it's a little weird but works for them! Kids! Pretty funny and wonderful.
