For Teah's bithday party she had a Peep and the Big Wide World party. 
It is a tv show on discover kids that is about exploration and discover/ science and math. So for the party we had different stations the kids could just move through the yard to play with the different things. There was seed planting, digging for treasure in the sand box, bubbles, balls and slides, looking at things in the yard with magnifying glasses, and painting the patio with ground up side walk chalk. The entire patio is painted at this point. The party was lots of fun and the format worked really well since there ended up being about 16 kids (not including ours) from 2-5 there. Trying to corral them all for specific activities probably would have been stressful - not to mention unsuccessful.
