A Visit to LA

Recently went to LA to visit my, well, essentially grandfather, Charles. We had a very nice time there. Charles met Teah with cheese, which was fitting since Teah only new Charles until now as the person who sent her cheese - story break

One of the earliest blogs was entitled will sit for cheese, where Teah tried to get some cheese by sitting in the corner, anyway it should be under July 2008 in the archived blogs. After reading the blog, Charles ordered some cheese for Teah, with directions that the cheese was only for her. Since it was nicer cheese then we normally buy, I wanted to try some. When I took a bite Teah said, "Hey, that's my cheese." So she obviously understood that the cheese was for her and until recently that was all she really new about Charles was that he was the one who sent her cheese.

As much as she liked the cheese, Teah was officially won over when she saw Charles' cat, Corky and spent as much time as she could next to Corky. Zander was also impressed by Charles, particularly his nose, and spend a lot of time grabbing it.

While we were there we went to the beach, zoo, and park and had a generally wonderful time. It is a trip we have been meaning to take for sometime and we only wish that we could have been there longer.

We did not take nearly as many pictures as we should, but here are a few . . .

Teah and Corky napping on the couch.
I probably should have taken some other pictures of them together that would have been cute, like them sitting next to eachother looking out the screen door, but alas I did not. I send this one to Charles and he decided to title it: LITTLE ANGELS -- THEY'RE ASLEEP.

Zanman at the beach

The family at the beach. Teah refused to be part of the picture, but we got her in it anyway. As you can see Zander also tried, equally unsuccessfully, to refuse the picture.

Mommy and Teah playing in the water. Teah had a great time running in the water, running from the water and building sand castles. There were lots of people at the beaching, as it was around 80 while we were out there. Interestingly there were very few people playing. People were sitting, laying, surfing, running and walking, but that is about it. We were one of the very few people I could see at the beach just playing and laughing. Then again, playing alligator with just adults is not that enjoyable. I guess that is one of the reasons we have children - so the simple things can be fun again.

I want to go to the beach, it looks so nice!! We have found a new fun beach here, so Teah could come out and go with me this summer! I love the picture of the two sleeping!
