The kids went to an on base halloween bash. They got to climb all over a tank and striker and they even got free pumpkins. And yes I know Mario is supposed to be wearing red, but we had better blue stuff and happened to come across one version in an old nintendo 64 game where he had blue on.
And here are the pumpkins they carved. (Xander wanted a happy pumpkin too).

And rather than doing a Friday field trip, for Tuesday science group we played with and experimented with why things glow. Then we had a halloween get together at our house on the weekend with a glow theme.

We put foil on the windows so it was dark inside and things could glow, but here are a couple of clips of the kids playing games outside.
By the time halloween actually rolled around we were a bit tired from all the halloween and the kids just threw on whatever dress up they desired to go around our block. I could not find my camera and did not even worry too much about taking pictures. Teah decided she wanted to dress up as a wish granter (her words) wearing one of her non specific dress up dresses, wings, a wand, tiara, and play necklace earings set. When she came home she was rather annoyed that everyone kept saying she was such a pretty princess or fairy.

A very happy Halloween! Lots of good strategies there...and I think I would have done what Teah did about the bob for apples. Lots of fun and encouragement from parents, too.
