So one of my favorite times is when strawberries become cheap. Recently Alberstons had strawberries had 4 pounds of strawberries for 5 dollars, which means it becomes cheaper to make things, like strawberry jam, than to buy it. I ended up buying 24 pounds of strawberries and making jam, sauces, pie, fruit leather, granola bars and of course eating some fresh. It was great!

Wow! You are quite the homemaking DIVA! I don't even know how to BEGIN making strawberry jam. Share the recipe?? I'd love to learn!
Looks wonderful Bridget. I am impressed. Takes lots of energy to do that with two little ones around your feet!!
After days like this I find my back just aches. Then I realize it's because I haven't sat all day - the kichen floor gets a little hard on the back after a while. Looks yummy. I've never made fruit leather - I sure love it though.
I did most of it on a saturday and Manu took turns helping watch the kids, slicing strawberies and stirring the jam.
Looks tasty! Rufus thinks home-made raspberry jam is the best. I disagree though. Rasberry jam is quite good, but strawberry freezer jam is my absolute favorite.
I agree with Juliet, strawberry freezer jam is the best, I am looking forward to eating some in a few weeks!
Strawberry freezer jam? Whaaat? That doesn't even come close to homemade raspberry, plum, blackberry or strawberry jam.
Looks like a regular hay day at your house. You will enjoy the results of all that hard labor for a long time. Keep up the good work.
Love the strawberry cheap time right now! :)
